CPS test (clicks per second)
Choose a time, then click or tap the box as fast as you can. The timer starts with your first click.
Your favorites come first on the home page and under the star at the top (in this browser).
How the CPS test works
The timer starts with your first click and runs for the time you chose. Every press of the main mouse button inside the box counts as one click, and so does every tap on a touchscreen. A click counts the moment you press, not when you let go. When time runs out, your score is the number of clicks divided by the seconds of the test: 40 clicks in 5 seconds is 8 clicks per second (CPS).
A click that lands after time is up doesn't count. After each test the box ignores clicks for a moment, so a last click doesn't start a new test by accident.
Short tests and long tests
In a 1-second test, one click more or less changes your score by a whole click per second; in a 10-second test, by 0.1. Short tests show your top burst, long ones show how well you keep the pace. Your best score is kept separately for each length.
Clicking techniques
- Regular clicking: one finger presses the button again and again.
- Jitter clicking: tensing the muscles of the hand and arm so the finger vibrates on the button.
- Butterfly clicking: two fingers take turns on the same button.
- Drag clicking: sliding a finger along the button so it bounces and registers several clicks.
Some game servers have rules about clicking techniques or speed: check the rules of the one you play on.
Frequently asked questions
What is CPS?
Clicks per second: the number of clicks you made divided by the length of the test in seconds.
Does it count the right button?
No: only the main button (usually the left one) and taps. With the box selected, the Enter key and the spacebar count too, so the test also works without a mouse.
Why didn't some clicks count?
Clicks outside the box and clicks after time is up don't count. If you suspect the mouse itself, the mouse test shows every press of every button.
Can I take the test on a phone?
Yes: every tap inside the box counts as a click.
Where is my best score saved?
In your own browser (localStorage), one for each test length. It isn't sent anywhere; clearing this site's data deletes it.
